The Kyoto International Manga Museum was opened on November 25, 2006. It was jointly established with the elite university and Kyoto City. The total investment was 1.2 billion yen. It was converted from the old school of the old Karasuma Oike Elementary School. The fourth floor, the artistry and literariness of the comics, is a major facility for serious research as a culture.
